The Lens:

We need as much protection as we can get from the harmful rays of the sun and for Oakley it is not something to fuss about since

it composes the lens with pure Plutonite lens material that can filter out 100% of the sun’s harmful UV rays such as UVA, UVB, UVC & harmful blue light of up to 400nm.

For ordinary lenses, it is very typical to have that mirror-effect on images. But INMATE® has an optimized peripheral view provided by the HIGH DEFINITION OPTICS (HDO) clarity that goes even up to the sides of its twin toric lens curvature.

These features have ensured that INMATE would definitely meet all the standards set by ANSI Z80.3 in terms of optical precision and performance.

The Frame:

Comfort at its best with the durable and ultra-lightweight hi-modulus C-5 frame material and performance from INMATE Three-Point Fit feature that holds lenses in place for a precise optical alignment.

Under sweaty conditions, ordinary frames would come very inconvenient as they could slide down to your nose which you inevitably need to push back up or remove the sunglasses all together. Oakley uses a patented hydrophilic Unobtanium earsocks that can secure the perfect snug and fit even if you sweat.

These features made it possible for INMATE to meet if not surpassed the standards set in ANSI Z80.3 in terms of impact resistance.
